Tsum Valley Trekking

The sacred Tsum Valley lies in northern Gorkha district, between the Ganesh Himal, Sringi Himal and Boudha ranges. Tsum comes from the Tibetan word Tsombo which means vivid. Originally, Tsum valley was a separate geographical area called Tsum Tso Chucksums, with thirteen provinces ruled as a single territory. Until now, the people of Tsum valley have been living as they have done for the past 100 years. Tibetan Buddhism is prevalent in the area, 90% of the people being Tibetan. The area has been opened for trekking only in 2008.
Apart from amazing mountain views and the valley's natural beauty, visitors can explore the ancient culture, art and traditions of the region. There are several unique and historic monasteries like Rachen Gompa, Mu Gompa and Lungdang Gompa that can be visited on the way.
The start and end point of this trek is at Arughat. It can be combined with the Manaslu circuit route.
