Island Peak Climbing

Island Peak or Imja Tse (6161m) is one of the most popular peaks in Nepal, about 350 groups per year attempt to climb it. It is located in the Everest region between Ama Dablam (6856m) and Lhotse (8501m). Usually, the Island Peak climb is combined with the Everest base camp trek, which also helps to acclimatise. From the summit of Island Peak we will be able to see Nuptse (7879m), Lhotse (8501m), Lhotse Shar (8380m), Makalu (8475m), Ama Dablam (6856m) and many more mountains. The view on Everest is blocked by Lhotse.
The Island Peak climb used to be fairly easy but the earlier route has become inaccessible and the new route is more difficult. It requires some snow and ice climbing skills now. It can still be done by less experienced climbers though.
